Tencent stated a doubling of the number of monthly active merchants accepting payments from WeChat Pay further benefitted \u201cconsumer payment frequency and volume\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of the mainland, the company \u201ccollaborated with several banking partners and attained a virtual banking licence\u201d in Hong Kong.
