{"id":140332,"date":"2019-06-05T01:41:08","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T17:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mobileworldlive.com\/?p=246665"},"modified":"2019-06-05T01:41:08","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T17:41:08","slug":"mexican-officials-vow-action-on-industry-barriers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itteacheritfreelance.hk\/test\/wordpress\/2019\/06\/05\/mexican-officials-vow-action-on-industry-barriers\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexican officials vow action on industry barriers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        \tLIVE FROM MOBILE 360 LATIN AMERICA, MEXICO CITY: Representatives from the Mexican government and telecoms regulator IFT committed to addressing issues hampering deployment of high quality mobile services across the country, with the ultimate aim of providing universal access within five years.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the opening keynote session, Mexico\u2019s secretary of communication and transport Javier Jimenez Espriu (pictured) acknowledged political and local issues raised by the country\u2019s mobile industry, which were cited as hampering network rollouts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo achieve universal connectivity in five years, the challenge is big,\u201d Espriu said, committing to work with individual operators and other stakeholders in the mobile industry to address \u201cpolitical difficulties\u201d and bureaucracy faced by them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with all of you we will work to find fair methods to increase coverage,\u201d he added, noting the policy of universal connectivity in the country was part of the government\u2019s aim to create a \u201cmodern inclusive and humanist culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Local issues<br \/>\n [1]Later in the session the challenges faced by the country\u2019s operators was raised by Gabriel Oswaldo Contreras, commissioner president of IFT (pictured, right).<\/p>\n<p>Contreras said the \u201chyper-connected future telecoms\u201d brought by 5G would impact all elements of people\u2019s lives and it was vital nobody was left behind, though significant challenges remained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the most important challenges are barriers at the local level,\u201d he added, noting problems accessing locations and geographical issues. \u201cMany times we need to overcome local and the legal barriers.
