{"id":148594,"date":"2019-07-10T19:39:36","date_gmt":"2019-07-10T11:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mobileworldlive.com\/?p=250191"},"modified":"2019-07-10T19:39:36","modified_gmt":"2019-07-10T11:39:36","slug":"ibm-completes-34b-red-hat-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itteacheritfreelance.hk\/test\/wordpress\/2019\/07\/10\/ibm-completes-34b-red-hat-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"IBM completes $34B Red Hat deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        \tIBM hailed the closing of a $34 billion acquisition of open source software company Red Hat as clearing the way to usher in a new chapter in the development of cloud services.<\/p>\n<p>The company confirmed the acquisition, first announced in October 2018, had been completed around a fortnight after the deal received unconditional approval [1] from European regulators.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, IBM said the acquisition \u201credefines the cloud market for business\u201d. It plans to integrate Red Hat\u2019s open hybrid cloud technologies with its scale and global footprint to create the world\u2019s &#8220;leading hybrid cloud provider and accelerate IBM\u2019s high-value business model\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>IBM chairman, president and CEO Ginni Rometty (pictured, right) said businesses are now starting the \u201cnext chapter\u201d of their digital reinventions, and moving mission-critical workloads across private clouds from multiple vendors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They need open, flexible technology to manage these hybrid multi-cloud environments. And they need partners they can trust to manage and secure these systems.
