Sure it’s nice to get a dedicated base to buy an expensive high-end model, but you’re really doing great if the mainstream latches onto your affordable, accessible, entry-level model. The Withings Move almost seems like the flip phone of fitness wearables. But at only $70 that compliment doesn’t have to necessarily be so backhanded.

At first glance the Withings Move just looks like a regular watch. There’s a mechanical face with clock hands and everything, no digital touch screen. This not only allows the watch to look more stylish but also last for 18 months on a single battery charge. The lack of onscreen stats even makes it harder for onlookers to snoop on your biometrics.

There wouldn’t be much to see though because the Withings Move is fairly limited in what it can track. It’s basically just steps and sleep. Connecting to a phone also gets you distance and workout tracking. But there’s no heart rate monitor or phone notifications. And even the sleep-tracking wasn’t that accurate according to our reviewer.

Still, even with that modest data the Withings Move can be plenty useful for your health. Sync and monitor its findings with the Health Mate mobile app. Here you can also manually log in more health information like blood pressure and BMI. And earning badges turns meeting your workout goals into a little game.

For more on the Withings Move check out the extensive review on our sister site PCMag.com.
