(Photo Credit: Washington State Patrol)<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A small airplane experiencing engine trouble\u00a0made a jaw-dropping emergency landing Thursday on a highway just outside Seattle, Washington \u2014 and it was all caught on police dash cam.<\/p>\n<p>Washington State Trooper Clint Thompson was driving along Pacific Avenue South when he saw the the KR2 single propeller plane descending closer and closer to the roadway.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Trooper Thompson\u2019s dash cam video capturing this morning\u2019s events! Great job by the pilot and trooper! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7X0uWYJ9fc\">pic.twitter.com\/7X0uWYJ9fc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Trooper Johnna Batiste (@wspd1pio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wspd1pio\/status\/1157003358974042112?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 1, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Realizing the plane was going to land on the road during morning, rush-hour traffic, Thompson\u00a0made an emergency u-turn, activated his lights, and slowed traffic to make room for the pilot to land safely, Washington State Patrol said.<\/p>\n<p>In the dashcam video, the plane can be seen hitting the busy road hard on its landing and then coming to a stop right at a red light.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">While on patrol in east Pierce county, Trooper Thompson just happened to be in the right place at the right time and witnessed the plane make an emergency landing. WSP had no prior knowledge of the pilot\u2019s complications. After 21 years with the patrol, this is a first for him. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rUwXsLT8ZJ\">pic.twitter.com\/rUwXsLT8ZJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Trooper Johnna Batiste (@wspd1pio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wspd1pio\/status\/1156970885179305984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 1, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Trooper Thompson just happened to be in the right place at the right time and witnessed the plane make an emergency landing,&#8221; Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Johnna Batiste said in a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson can be seen in the video walking up to the plane and &#8220;knocking&#8221; on the window.
