Salinger&#8217;s small-but-influential oeuvre is now available as a digital download.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Little, Brown this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/08\/11\/books\/jd-salinger-ebooks.html\"  rel=\"noopener\">published e-book editions<\/a> of the influential author&#8217;s four texts: &#8220;The Catcher In the Rye,&#8221; &#8220;Nine Stories,&#8221; &#8220;Franny and Zooey,&#8221; and &#8220;Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A recluse famous for his obsessively private life, Salinger&#8217;s aversion to technology kept his work offline for decades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly 10 years after his death, though, son Matt\u2014an actor and producer who helps run the J.D. Salinger Literary Trust\u2014is changing all that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In hopes of making his father&#8217;s work accessible to new generations, the younger Salinger has finally brought these famous tales to digital readers worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;This is the last chip to fall in terms of the <a href=\"http:\/\/itteacheritfreelance.hk\/index.php\" title=\"\u672c\u7db1\u9801\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e00\u500b\u65b9\u4fbf\u7684\u5e73\u53f0, \u70ba\u5927\u5bb6\u914d\u5c0d\u96fb\u8166\u88dc\u7fd2,IT freelance, \u79c1\u4eba\u8001\u5e2b , PHP\u88dc\u7fd2, HTML\u88dc\u7fd2, CSS\u88dc\u7fd2, JavaScript\u88dc\u7fd2, XML, Java\u88dc\u7fd2,Server\u88dc\u7fd2, MySQL\u88dc\u7fd2, \u4e2d\u5b78\u96fb\u8166\u79d1\u79c1\u4eba\u88dc\u7fd2, \u5728\u8077\u4eba\u58eb\u96fb\u8166\u63d0\u5347\u88dc\u7fd2,\u5c08\u696d\u8003\u8a66\u96fb\u8166 \u88dc\u7fd2,\u96fb\u8166\u5716\u50cf\u8a2d\u8a08\u96fb\u8166\u88dc\u7fd2, gra\">class<\/a>ic works,&#8221; Terry Adams, vice president, digital and paperback publisher of Little, Brown, told <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The New York Times<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. &#8220;All of the other estates of major 20th century writers have made the move to e-books, but Matt has been very cautious.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I hear his voice really clearly in my head,&#8221; the Salinger heir said, &#8220;and there&#8217;s no doubt in my mind about 96 percent of the decisions I have to make, because I know what he would have wanted.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence why you&#8217;ll probably never seen a big-screen adaptation of Holden Caulfield, or a tote bag emblazoned with the &#8220;Nine Stories&#8221; logo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Things like e-books and audiobooks are tough, because he clearly didn&#8217;t want them,&#8221; Matt added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He began to reconsider the idea, though, about five years ago, when a woman wrote to him about a disability that makes it difficult for her to read printed books.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, on a recent trip to China, Matt realized that many young people overseas read exclusively on digital services, and e-books may be his best chance to introduce his father&#8217;s writing to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">J.D. Salinger &#8220;was leery of many things,&#8221; Matt said, &#8220;but he had a profound love for his readers.
