But the 2017 reboot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/movies\/moviebob-reviews-jumanji-welcome-to-the-jungle-1726314\/\"  rel=\"noopener\"><em>Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle<\/em><\/a>\u00a0updated the premise by making it about a magical video game that sucked players into a digital jungle adventure. It made a ton of money and there\u2019s a sequel on the way this holiday. So we get why they\u2019re making an actual <em>Jumanji<\/em> video game. Still, doesn\u2019t that seem pretty meta?<\/p>\n<p>Check out this first trailer for <em>Jumanji: The Video Game<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-video widescreen embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0uDpcF1SHHg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Like <em>Jumanji<\/em>, the video game, <em>Jumanji: The Video Game<\/em> is a co-op action-adventure where players control the four different heroes. You\u2019ve got The Rock as beefy Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Jack Black as nerdy Professor Shelly Oberon, Karen Gillan as ersatz Lara Croft Ruby Roundhouse, and Kevin Hart as tiny zoologist Mouse Finbar.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer showed off hand-to-hand combat, tossing poison at foes, and navigating jungle traps, with different characters overcoming challenges suited to their skills. The game lets you team up online, locally, or with AI teammates.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t know yet how meta <em>Jumanji: The Video Game<\/em> is willing to get though. Does it just present itself as an actual version of the video game the kids play in the movie? Or will it acknowledge the \u201creal world\u201d as well? Did the developers at Outright Games actually figure out a way to transport you into the game? Or at the very least is there virtual reality support? And the most important question of all, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/movies\/in-jumanji-the-next-level-trailer-the-rock-is-finally-danny-devito-1794081\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">The Rock play Danny DeVito<\/a> in this game, too?<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll find out when <em>Jumanji: The Video Game<\/em> launches this November for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
