Take COBOL, for example. The venerable programming language turns 60 this month and, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/cobol-turns-60-why-it-will-outlive-us-all\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols has written<\/a>, could well \u201coutlive us all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, COBOL offers a great example of the true pace of progress within our industry, while perhaps also offering some clues as to what tomorrow\u2019s COBOLs will be. Java and SQL, anyone?
