What ultimately turned the bizarre, dual-screened, touch screen system around though were high-quality casual games that greatly expanded the market for the portable device. Of course a system that lets you pet virtual dogs in <em>Nintendogs<\/em> will sell over 150 million units.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brain Age<\/em> was also one of those key titles that helped the DS achieve meteoric success. And now Dr. Kawashima\u2019s brain training is coming to Nintendo\u2019s latest handheld in a new <em>Brain Age<\/em> for Nintendo Switch.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-video widescreen embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6_jnLSUquR8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Considering <em>Brain Age\u2019s<\/em> handheld history, we figured a <em>Brain Age<\/em> for Switch would be built especially for the new portable-focused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/tech\/geek-pick-nintendo-switch-lite-feels-fake-in-a-good-way-1804898\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Nintendo Switch Lite<\/a>. However, this Japanese overview trailer showcases the game\u2019s educational features that take advantage of specific features of the full-fledged console\/handheld hybrid.<\/p>\n<p>Users take off the Joy-Con for multiplayer math fun. The IR camera tracks different hand shapes like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-will-replace-your-child-with-1-2-switch-1687991\/\"  rel=\"noopener\"><em>1-2 Switch<\/em><\/a>. There\u2019s still plenty of writing to do on the touch screen, though. And just like with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/games\/review-super-mario-maker-2-is-couples-therapy-1793146\/\"  rel=\"noopener\"><em>Super Mario Maker 2<\/em><\/a>, the Japanese version of the game comes with a capacitive stylus.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brain Age\u2019s<\/em> actual ability to curb mental decline as you age has always been a bit suspect. But at the very least you\u2019ll get a little better at math. <em>Brain Age<\/em> is coming to Nintendo Switch in Japan this December. Nintendo would be out of its mind to not also release it worldwide. Hopefully that floating head turns in to the devil again.
