Whether you\u2019re playing on PC, Switch, PS4, Xbox One, or even Google Stadia, you\u2019re going to have something to play.<\/p>\n<p>October\u2019s most notable titles include a new(?) <em>Call of Duty<\/em>, the latest <em>Destiny 2<\/em> expansion, and another spooky <em>Luigi\u2019s Mansion<\/em>. There are also a number of notable indie games like <em>Indivisible<\/em>, <em>Concrete Genie<\/em>, and <em>Trine 4<\/em>. Overall, this is a very solid month for gaming. My heart goes out to each and every one of your wallets.<\/p>\n<h3>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/h3>\n<div class=\"flex-video widescreen embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hBT3BfnNfkA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Platforms<\/strong>: PC, PS4, Xbox One<br \/>\n<strong>Release date<\/strong>: October 25<\/p>\n<p>Another year, another <em>Call of Duty<\/em>. Well, sort of. 2019\u2019s <em>Modern Warfare<\/em> serves as a reboot for the franchise. It contains many of the characters from the original but in all-new settings and situations. This entry promises to have a grittier tone than previous entries while still retaining the over-the-top \u201cMichael Bay\u201d inspired action scenes. <em>Modern Warfare<\/em> will also have the series\u2019 celebrated multiplayer modes. Like <em>Ghost Recon: Wildlands<\/em>, this entry takes place in a massive open-world environment. Survival and tactics play a large part in the experience. Players must use nature to conceal themselves or utilize technology to get the drop on foes. It contains an all-new raid and improvements to the gameplay. Like previous entries, the goal in <em>Luigi\u2019s Mansion 3<\/em> is to capture ghosts. The main difference is that, instead of a mansion, you\u2019re stuck in a creepy hotel. Gameplay-wise, this sequel introduces Gooigi, which is a Slimer-like companion who helps Luigi solve puzzles. There are also a number of competitive and co-op modes for those who want to play together. This isn\u2019t a big surprise given how developer Obsidian previously worked on <em>Fallout: New Vegas<\/em>. Players will get to explore a variety of planets run by greedy corporations. They\u2019ll fight aliens and monsters all while gaining experience and loot to help them survive against overwhelming odds. This one seems like a spiritual successor of <em>Jet Grind Radio<\/em> with the way you can paint backgrounds. At around six hours, this seems like the perfect game to spend an afternoon playing. Like the first two entries, this is an action-platformer with a heavy emphasis on puzzles. Each of the four characters has different abilities. It\u2019ll be up to you to decide how to use their unique talents to progress. One thing I loved from the demo is how you can solve puzzles in many different ways. <em>Trine 4<\/em> is also the most visually impressive entry in the series, which says a lot considering how awesome past installments looked. This fully hand-drawn game combines aspects of RPGs, fighting games, and Metroidvanias. Though turn-based in nature, battles get quite intense, especially when you have a full roster of four characters unleashing super moves. For me, the big highlight is the beautiful animation. Unlike <em>Final Fantasy<\/em> or similar games, it tells one continuous story from entry to entry. While the main draw is its turn-based battle system, fans have stuck with the franchise because of its deep story and rich characters. Actually, remake is an unfair label to give this title as it is more of a reimagining. I never got on board the <em>MediEvil<\/em> hype train back in the day so I\u2019m somewhat confused as to why this updated version exists. With that said, it\u2019s good that legit fans of the series will get to return to this strange world.
