The Xbox One Elite controller<\/a> is the gold standard when it comes to premier Xbox One controllers. While a phenomenal peripheral, it\u2019s also an expensive one at $149.99. Those looking for an affordable alternative need look no further than the new Fusion Pro wired controller for Xbox One. At $79.99, this revised edition of the existing Fusion Pro delivers everything Xbox players want from a deluxe controller. Like the Elite, the Fusion Pro is a controller that serious Xbox players should consider buying.<\/p>\n

The Fusion Pro comes in a hardshell case which has the Fusion logo emblazoned on it. This case is ideal for those who want to take the controller with them when they travel. There are two additional joysticks within the case, as well as two extra metallic rings, four detachable paddles, and a two-meter braided USB cable. The end of the cable that enters the controller locks in place when inserted. This ensures you won\u2019t pull the cable out by accident.<\/p>\n

The controller itself looks and feels very much like a standard Xbox One controller. It has a matte soft-touch finish that feels great to hold. Both analog sticks have anti-friction rings. Metal also surrounds the D-pad and face buttons. Dual-rumble motors help each game come to life. You can easily remove the faceplate in order to swap out each analog stick. The controller\u2019s weight makes it feel like a premium device.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find the back paddle access port on the back. It\u2019s easy to remove this piece of plastic and swap it out for the “Pro Pack” which houses the back paddles. You\u2019re free to remove each individual back paddle if you don\u2019t need all four. You can also opt to not use the back paddles at all. There are trigger locks to the sides of the access port. You can adjust the range of each trigger\u2019s actuation point, depending on the game you\u2019re playing.<\/p>\n

The Fusion Pro works for all Xbox One systems (standard, S, and X) and for Windows 10 games. To test the controller, I played Sunset Overdrive<\/em> and Cuphead<\/em> on Xbox One and Gears of War 4<\/em> and Forza Horizon 3<\/em> on PC. Playing these games with the Fusion Pro works as well as expected. In fact, because of the controller\u2019s matte finish, playing these games felt much better than on a standard controller. The controller\u2019s weight makes it feel especially sturdy.
