Looking for a new Windows PC that won’t take up a lot of space on your desk? You might want to take a look at the iLife MP8. It’s small enough that you could easily make four or five a part of your juggling routine.<\/p>\n

Notebook Italia notes [Google Translate link<\/a>] that the MP8 is only about one fourth the size of some of Intel’s already small NUC systems. It measure two inches square and stands just 1.67 inches tall.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, this diminutive little cube isn’t built to handle heavy workloads. It’s powered by Intel’s Celeron N4100 quad-core Gemini Lake processor and has just 4GB of RAM and 64GB of integrated storage. Windows 10 (presumably Windows 10 Home) comes preinstalled.<\/p>\n

There’s a microSD slot for expansion as well as 2 USB 3.0 ports and a USB-C port for your peripherals. Video gets piped out an HDMI port and you can hook up a headset or speakers to the MP8’s audio output.<\/p>\n

Despite its small size, there’s still room inside the MP8’s case for a fan to keep the internals cool. iLife is showing off three different case options. The plastic one will be available in white or silver and has a vented top. The black and gray version has a mesh-covered vent just below its lid.<\/p>\n

It’s a nice little package for a DIY set-top box, especially one that runs an operating system that will receive regular updates. That’s not always the case with Android-based devices like this.<\/p>\n

You won’t have a hard time finding room to set up the MP8, but you may have to wait a while before you can actually order one. Liliputing’s Brad Linder reports<\/a> that a launch date and price have yet to be announced… or even whether the system will be called the MP8 when it’s released.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
