If, like me, you have neither the ability nor the desire to cook<\/a>, it can be hard to inject variety into your meals.<\/span><\/p>\n

(There are only so many different flavor combinations tortellini manufacturers can invent.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery’s new Food Network Kitchen app<\/a>, however, aims to change that.<\/span><\/p>\n

The subscription-based service offers the chance to bake, barbecue, and broil with star chefs, culinary influencers, cookbook authors<\/a>, and restaurateurs\u2014right in your kitchen.<\/span><\/p>\n

So dust off that whisk and dig out that saucepan: You’ll be able to interact directly with chefs and the Food Network Kitchen culinary team during sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If you’re stumped by grating garlic or peeling ginger, ask your questions and get answers,” the Food Network said in a press release<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Line-ups are announced at least a week in advance; shop for groceries in the app as you swipe through recipes, then order for home delivery.<\/span><\/p>\n

“As we talked to more customers, we heard that they were often not feeling confident in the kitchen, and wanted help,” Tyler Whitworth, senior vice president and general manager of direct-to-consumer at Food Network parent company Discovery, told CNET<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We built this kitchen companion that customers could use on a regular basis to help them build their skills and have more fun in the kitchen,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

And what’s more fun than learning from best-of-the-best celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis, Ina Garten, Martha Stewart, and a bunch of other people I’ve never heard of?<\/span><\/p>\n

On-demand courses and class<\/a>es will debut each month; choose from seminars in Mexican cuisine, baking and cake decorating, and Thanksgiving favorites, with more on the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also look for instructions for over-the-top creations from seasonal series like “Christmas Cookie Challenge,” “Holiday Baking Championship,” and “Ultimate Hanukkah Challenge.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Food Network Kitchen integrates with Amazon Alexa<\/a> to act as a hands-free sous chef while you cook.<\/span><\/p>\n

For $48 a year (or $4 per month), subscribers can find hundreds of step-by-step videos, advanced search functionality, and thousands of recipes.<\/span><\/p>\n
