You need to straight-up transport people into entirely new worlds, provide the kind of tangible escapist fantasy that virtual reality can only dream of. What else are they paying you for? So it\u2019s no surprise that the only companies that can pull this off are movie studios already used to lavishly producing physical sets to make the impossible possible.<\/p>\n<p>Disneyland and Disney World are obviously iconic theme parks. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/culture\/star-wars-galaxys-edge-at-disneyland-heres-what-its-like-inside-1789521\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Star Wars Galaxy\u2019s Edge<\/a>\u00a0generated a ton of excitement by giving attendees a chance to step foot into a galaxy far, far away\u2026 complete with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/culture\/coca-cola-reveals-sci-fi-soda-for-star-wars-galaxys-edge-1783001\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">space Coca-Cola<\/a>. But Universal Studios Orlando has been a powerful rival this whole time. And they\u2019re about to become even more powerful with the Epic Universe expansion coming in 2023.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-video widescreen embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gQpi0H5ZxZc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The centerpiece of the Florida theme park for the past few years has been Harry Potter\u2019s Wizarding World, an immaculately detailed recreation of J.K. Rowling\u2019s magic imagination complete with rides, wand-making workshops, and all sorts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/culture\/universal-reveals-new-harry-potter-roller-coaster-opening-in-june-1775654\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">hidden Harry Potter details<\/a>\u00a0everywhere you look. I\u2019m so over <em>Harry Potter<\/em> but still dug the immersion, as have countless other attendees considering the popularity of the park.<\/p>\n<p>The long-talked about Epic Universe park sounds like a way to carry that idea forward to other beloved #brands you&#8217;d love to just live inside. The 750-acre facility (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmcsa.com\/events\/event-details\/q3-2019-comcast-corporation-earnings-conference-call\"  rel=\"noopener\">detailed in a quarterly earnings call<\/a>) will not only feature new <em>Harry Potter<\/em> attractions but also perhaps a world based on DreamWorks\u2019 <em>How to Train Your Dragon<\/em>. Meanwhile, Universal Japan\u2019s long-awaited Super Nintendo World theme park opens in Osaka in 2020.
