Batman’s signature set of wheels has undergone a lot of redesigns over the years. One of the best ever was designed by Anton Furst for Tim Burton’s 1989 blockbuster.<\/p>\n

The folks at Lego wanted to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. They’re doing it in a very big way by releasing an epic new Batmobile set.<\/p>\n

This stunning tribute is aimed at serious builders — and they should be at least 16 years old, according to Lego. The box is bursting with over 3,300 pieces, so you’ll want to prepare yourself for an extended assembly session (or two or three).<\/p>\n

When complete, the 1989 Batmobile measures eight inches wide and nearly two feet long. To make taking it all in a bit easier, Lego designed a rotating mount that you can perch the model on… when you’re not hunting down minifig villains like The Joker, naturally.<\/p>\n

The finished model will be well worth the time you put into it. It’s stunningly detailed from front to back, from its unique jet turbine intake to the sweeping throwback fins to the custom rubber tires. Side-firing grappling hooks for quick turns? Check!<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0Slide the cockpit open and you’ll discover that the interior is every bit as complex as the Batmobile’s exterior. It’s all there: the jam-packed instrument cluster, the stick shift, the emblem on the steering wheel, and even the passenger-side display.<\/p>\n

Lego includes the big three minifigs — Vicki Vale, Batman, and The Joker — and they’re fantastic recreations of their cinematic counterparts. This is a brand new paint job for Joker, and Batman’s cape isn’t the usual fabric Lego uses. It’s made of the same flexible material as his cowl.\"\"<\/p>\n

As if Lego’s latest take on the Batmobile isn’t amazing enough, they’re doing something extra special for for the multi-day shopping event formerly known as Black Friday.<\/p>\n
