{"id":176005,"date":"2019-11-19T03:16:50","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T19:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mobileworldlive.com\/?p=262117"},"modified":"2019-11-19T03:16:50","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T19:16:50","slug":"us-makes-huawei-trade-extension-official","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itteacheritfreelance.hk\/test\/wordpress\/2019\/11\/19\/us-makes-huawei-trade-extension-official\/","title":{"rendered":"US makes Huawei trade extension official"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        \tThe US Department of Commerce (DoC) cemented another 90-day reprieve for Huawei, allowing it to continue trading with domestic companies through mid-February.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said in a statement the move will enable operators &#8220;to continue to service customers in some of the most remote areas of the United States who would otherwise be left in the dark\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added the DoC will continue to \u201crigorously monitor sensitive technology exports to ensure that our innovations are not harnessed by those who would threaten our national security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The extension marks the third such delay in implementing trade restrictions announced in May [1], which would block Huawei from buying components from US companies. The second reprieve was set to expire Monday (18 November).<\/p>\n<p>The new extension runs through 16 February 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Other government agencies, however, continue to move forward with separate blockade efforts.
