For another $10,000 you can get a dual motor, all-wheel drive, 300-mile range, and 10,000-pound towing capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tri-motor AWD Cybertruck, meanwhile, tops out at nearly $70,000, promising a 500-mile range and 14,000-pound towing*\u2014for all your RV-carrying needs. Oh, and it can travel from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/cybertruck\/design#battery\"  rel=\"noopener\">Available now to pre-order for $100<\/a>, production is scheduled to begin in &#8220;late 2021,&#8221; with the tri-motor option expected sometime after 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Cybertruck design influenced partly by The Spy Who Loved Me <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HKBzxFNfzm\">https:\/\/t.co\/HKBzxFNfzm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1197638937109336066?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 21, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week&#8217;s launch was about as awkward as any of Elon Musk&#8217;s tub-thumpers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the event went from slightly uncomfortable to positively cringeworthy when the CEO invited lead designer Franz von Holzhausen to demonstrate the strength of Tesla&#8217;s &#8220;Armor Glass&#8221; by throwing a baseball-sized metal ball at the driver-side window.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Oh my f***ing God,&#8221; Musk said, laughing. &#8220;Well, maybe that was a little too hard.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If at first you don&#8217;t succeed, try, try again\u2014on the rear passenger window.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;It didn&#8217;t go through,&#8221; the entrepreneur, always looking on the bright side, said of the second failed attempt. &#8220;Room for improvement.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We threw wrenches, we threw everything,&#8221; he said on stage, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2019\/11\/21\/tesla-accidentally-busted-two-windows-on-the-cybertruck-while-demonstrating-how-tough-they-are\"  rel=\"noopener\">as reported by TechCrunch<\/a>. &#8220;We even literally threw a kitchen sink at the glass, and it didn&#8217;t break.
