(Photo Credit: The Associated Press \/ Zola) <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hell hath no fury like the Internet scored: Following backlash from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/tech\/lgbtq-video-creators-sue-youtube-google-1800107\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">LGBTQ+ groups and supporters<\/a>, the Hallmark Channel promised to reinstate an ad featuring two brides kissing.<\/p>\n<p>The saccharine station, known for its family-friendly (i.e. sugar-coated) programming, recently buckled to online pressure, pulling four of six Zola commercials depicting couples who wish they&#8217;d used the planning service for their big day.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hallmarkchannel?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@hallmarkchannel<\/a>\u2019s decision to remove LGBTQ families in such a blatant way is discriminatory and especially hypocritical coming from a network that claims to present family programming and also recently stated they are \u2018open\u2019 to LGBTQ holiday movies. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7S8tOdUnAW\">https:\/\/t.co\/7S8tOdUnAW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 GLAAD (@glaad) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/glaad\/status\/1206031500887699457?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 15, 2019<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Hallmark appeared to reject only those ads with a lesbian couple.<\/p>\n<p>The removal was seen as a win for conservative groups like One Million Moms, which <a href=\"https:\/\/lifepetitions.com\/petition\/tell-hallmark-no-lgbt-christmas-movies\"  rel=\"noopener\">petitioned the network<\/a>\u00a0to cease running films or commercials featuring members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/tech\/new-tinder-alert-protects-lgbtq-users-in-hostile-nations-1797412\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">LGBTQ+ community<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Created by the American Family Association, <a href=\"https:\/\/onemillionmoms.com\/current-campaigns\/hallmark-is-now-airing-lgbt-commercials-open-to-lgbt-movies\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">1MM<\/a> urged Hallmark\u00a0to &#8220;keep sex and sexual practices\u2014including the promotion of homosexuality, transgenderism, etc.\u2014out of their movies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If not, the company risks &#8220;offending Christian views \u2026 BIG TIME&#8221; and &#8220;losing a big part of their market\u2014because people just couldn&#8217;t be sure of what to expect,&#8221; according to the group.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As of press time, the petition, which launched Dec. 2, had more than 46,000 digital signatures.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hallmark parent company Crown Media Holdings &#8220;agonized&#8221; over its decision to pull the ad, &#8220;as we&#8217;ve seen the hurt it has unintentionally caused,&#8221; Mike Perry, new president of Hallmark Greetings, said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.hallmark.com\/news-article\/hallmark-affirms-its-commitment-to-diversity-and-inclusion\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Sunday statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Hallmark will be working with GLAAD to better represent the LGBTQ community across our portfolio of brands.
