(Photo Credit: Mark Rober \/ YouTube)<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Porch pirates, beware: Former NASA engineer Mark Rober is back with an improved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/tech\/youtuber-builds-glitter-bomb-trap-that-farts-on-package-thieves-1766507\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">glitter bomb<\/a> that promises to get extra smelly revenge on thieves.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After falling victim to parcel pilfering last year\u2014with no help from local police\u2014Rober decided to take matters into his own hands by building the &#8220;glitter bomb.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Disguised as an Apple Home Pod box, the trap showers unsuspecting recipients with fine glitter and fart spray.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But Rober&#8217;s viral video (and the threat of finding minuscule reflective particles on the floor for years to come) has done little to deter people from stealing parcels right off someone&#8217;s front stoop.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Enter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a_TSR_v07m0\"  rel=\"noopener\">glitter bomb 2.0<\/a> (sponsored by Bose).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The improved product was completed with a little help from the very child actor-turned-comedy website owner who inspired the original idea: <em>Home Alone&#8217;s<\/em> Macaulay Culkin.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;If the thieves took just two seconds to actually inspect the package, they would see that all the words on the side are just slightly modified quotes from <em>Home Alone<\/em>,&#8221; Rober said in a YouTube video.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex-video widescreen embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a_TSR_v07m0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Inside the branded box\u2014fake Bose &#8220;Buzz700&#8221; headphones, named after Kevin McCallister&#8217;s older brother\u2014is a streamlined system with a custom circuit board, GPS trackers, LTE-data smartphones with wide-angle cameras, biodegradable glitter, and a much more potent fart spray.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ten volunteers around the country placed the parcel outside their door as bait, easily luring in larcenists looking for a high-end score. All the while, Rober watched the scenes play out from the comfort of his home computer.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Aside from the smooth criminal who caught on to the ruse once glitter began leaking out of the box, the prank worked as planned on several victims\u2014including one dum-dum who tried gifting the &#8220;headphones&#8221; to his girlfriend.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Dem feels when you wake up from your power nap from staying up all night editing to see #1 trending <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IJXf8ELAg0\">pic.twitter.com\/IJXf8ELAg0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Rober???
