Hulu is set to release a documentary about Greta Thunberg in 2020 (via Michael Campanella\/The Guardian)<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n

Freshly minted <\/span>Time<\/span><\/i> Magazine Person of the Year 2019<\/a> Greta Thunberg is the subject of a documentary set to premiere on Hulu next year.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Deadline<\/a>, the team behind <\/span>Greta<\/span><\/i> (original title) has been following Thunberg since her early school strikes, chronicling the teen’s global fight for climate justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thunberg went from plaited protester to ponytailed phenom in just one year, inspiring students (and adults) across the world to combat climate change and build a better future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since August 2018, she has spoken at TEDxStockholm, addressed the United Nations Climate Action Summit, and given a talk to the World Economic Forum at Davos.<\/span><\/p>\n

In March, she was nominated as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize, and last week became the youngest recipient of <\/span>Time<\/span><\/i>‘s Person of the Year accolade.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thunberg is not a leader of any political party or advocacy group. She is neither the first to sound the alarm about the climate crisis nor the most qualified to fix it,” <\/span>Time<\/span><\/i> wrote about Thunberg. “She is not a scientist or a politician. She has no access to traditional levers of influence: she’s not a billionaire or a princess, a pop star, or even an adult.<\/span><\/p>\n

“She is an ordinary teenage girl who, in summoning the courage to speak truth to power, became the icon of a generation,” the article continued. “By clarifying an abstract danger with piercing outrage, Thunberg became the most compelling voice on the most important issue facing the planet.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The world (er, Hulu subscribers) will get an up-close-and-personal look at this unlikely hero in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Greta vs Climate<\/span><\/i> (working title) is produced by B-Reel Films and directed by documentary filmmaker Nathan Grossman.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to IMDb<\/a>, the movie is currently in post-production, set for release in Sweden. There is no word when, or even if, it will be available in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n
