(Photo by Issam Rimawi \/ Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As people get ready for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geek.com\/movies\/is-it-a-christmas-movie-die-hard-1814030\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Christmas<\/a>, Banksy is urging everyone to think about Bethlehem&rsquo;s present-day dilemma.<\/p>\n<p>The street artist recently unveiled a &ldquo;modified nativity&rdquo; scene at the Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B6VOhqjnDBy\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">according to an Instagram post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dubbed <em>Scar of Bethlehem<\/em>, the piece shows Joseph and Mary kneeling next to baby Jesus in front of a giant concrete wall, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/style\/article\/banksy-bethlehem-nativity-scene-trnd\/index.html\"  rel=\"noopener\">CNN noted<\/a>. There&rsquo;s a guiding star mark right in the middle of the structure and it&rsquo;s graffitied with &ldquo;love&rdquo; and other words in different languages.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameBorder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B6VOhqjnDBy\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loadingembed\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is a nativity,&Acirc;&nbsp;Banksy has his own contribution to Christmas,&rdquo;&Acirc;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.afp.com\/en\/news\/3954\/mysterious-artist-banksy-unveils-dark-nativity-bethlehem-doc-1n83895\"  rel=\"noopener\">Wissam Salsaa, the hotel&rsquo;s manager, told AFP<\/a>. &ldquo;It is a great way to bring up the story of Bethlehem, the Christmas story, in a different way &mdash; to make people think more of how Palestinians live in Bethlehem.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The hotel, which was opened by Banksy in 2017, features the street artist&rsquo;s work and raises awareness about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Rooms in the hotel face a 30-foot high wall part of the West Bank barrier, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-middle-east-50881270\"  rel=\"noopener\">BBC reported<\/a>. Israel says it&rsquo;s necessary to prevent attacks, while Palestinians say the wall separates them from Jerusalem.
