Warner Bros. Pictures International inked a deal with Cinelytic to employ its AI-driven project management system.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the new deal<\/a>, WBPI will leverage the integrated online platform to “reduce executives’ time spent on low-value, repetitive tasks.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, it relies on AI and cloud-based technologies to help generate “actionable insights” for packaging, green-lighting, marketing, and distribution decisions in real time.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to<\/span><\/a> The Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/i>, Cinelytic’s system can access the value of a star in any territory and how much a film is expected to make in theaters, among other ancillary streams.<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded four years ago by Tobias Queisser, Cinelytic counts among its clients Ingenious Media (<\/span>Line of Duty<\/span><\/i>), STX Entertainment (<\/span>The Irishman<\/span><\/i>), Productivity Media (<\/span>Stockholm<\/span><\/i>), and Malao Film (<\/span>Jim Button & The Dragon of Wisdom<\/span><\/i>).<\/span><\/p>\n

And now, Warner Bros.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are very excited to work with [WBPI] to bring the power of real-time predictive analytics to content and talent valuation decisions,” Queisser said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

It could prove especially helpful during film festivals, <\/span>THR<\/span><\/i> suggested\u2014where studios get caught in bidding wars and award massive lumps of cash after only a few hours’ review.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The system can calculate in seconds what used to take days to assess by a human when it comes to general film package evaluation or a star’s worth,” Queisser explained to the <\/span>Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Could the Cinelytic AI’s insight saved Warner Bros. from recent misfires like <\/span>The Kitchen<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Shaft<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>Godzilla: King of the Monsters<\/span><\/i>?<\/span><\/p>\n

“In our industry, we make tough decisions every day that affect what\u2014and how\u2014we produce and deliver films to theaters around the world,” Tonis Kiis, senior VP of distribution for WBPI, said. “And the more precise our data is, the better we will be able to engage our audiences.”<\/span><\/p>\n
