Let’s go through them one by one.

Starting us off is a cute interaction between Adam Sandler and Billy Dee Williams. While Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems may have been snubbed by the Academy this year, it didn’t pass by Star Wars’ Billy Dee Willaims unnoticed. This Saturday, Williams tweeted an uncanny comparison between Lando Calrissian’s costume design in The Rise of Skywalker (inspired more by Donald Glover’s Solo outfit than Empire Strikes Back) and Sandler’s costume design in Uncut Gems.

.@AdamSandler Two Uncut Gems 😎 pic.twitter.com/HHSwGChDx5

— Billy Dee Williams (@realbdw) January 11, 2020

Sandler took the tweet in good humor, asking Billy Dee who wouldn’t want to be him.

Who doesn’t want to be you Billy Dee? https://t.co/3e5r73BMHz

— Adam Sandler (@AdamSandler) January 11, 2020

It’s a cute nod between two very different actors, but fits for more than just the similar costumes, as both pictured characters are known for being underworld kings. Finn’s character arc unfortunately never sees a clear conclusion in the sequel trilogy, despite starting off with a strong premise, so it’s more than fair to see Boyega vent after being promised a major role. “Unprofessionalism†goes two ways, and this isn’t the first time we’ve seen actors jokingly call out their own films.

Robert Pattinson (bless him) has spent over a decade openly mocking the romance in his completed popular film series, & yet he has never faced 1/5 of the targeted fan vitriol & accusations of attacking fans as has John Boyega after like a month.
