{"id":78250,"date":"2019-02-12T20:37:57","date_gmt":"2019-02-12T12:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mobileworldlive.com\/?p=235202"},"modified":"2019-02-12T20:37:57","modified_gmt":"2019-02-12T12:37:57","slug":"google-faces-android-abuse-probe-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itteacheritfreelance.hk\/test\/wordpress\/2019\/02\/12\/google-faces-android-abuse-probe-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Google faces Android abuse probe in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        \tIndian competition officials followed European Union counterparts by probing allegations Google abused the market dominance of its Android platform, Reuters reported.<\/p>\n<p>Sources told the news agency the Competition Commission of India (CCI) began probing potential abuse of Android&#8217;s position six months ago, following a complaint filed by a group of individuals.<\/p>\n<p>A similar, three year, investigation by the European Commission resulted in Google being fined \u20ac4.3 billion [1] in mid-2018 after the commission deemed requirements for Android device makers to use Google apps illegal.<\/p>\n<p>Reuters stated Google executives have met with Indian officials to discuss the matter. The CCI must now decide whether the case merits further investigation or if it should be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is on the lines of the EU case, but at a preliminary stage,\u201d a source told the news agency.
