With the release of the PlayStation 5 on the horizon, many Call of Duty: Warzone fans are eager to see if there are any changes on the new platform. The console has advertised enhanced graphics, faster load times, and many other useful features that even the current build of Call of Duty: Warzone could embrace.
The PlayStation 5 is in high demand, with many fans struggling to pre-order the console. Call of Duty: Warzone is a likely download during the console’s initial set up for many. Call of Duty: Warzone is a highly popular title, and players will be expecting a smoother experience on a higher-end console than they had on their previous setup.
As players explore the new features, a new video by JackFrags puts the game to the test as it gives a direct comparison between the PS4 Pro version and the PlayStation 5. One of the early tests that he tries is comparing the Call of Duty: Warzone solo and trio load times on the PS4 and PS5. The standard load rate for the PS4 Pro was 25 seconds, while the PS5 loaded up the game in roughly 17 seconds. After some early testing, JackFrags came to the conclusion that ht current PS5 version of Warzone is a backward-compatible version of the PS4 edition. The game looks generally the same on both platforms, and that shows, considering that the PS5 will load 4k graphics if given the opportunity.
One difference that JackFrags did notice was that Call of Duty: Warzone on the PS5 held a consistent rate of 60FPS throughout the playthrough. While the PS4 Pro does run at the same rate, chaotic moments throughout the game would often drop the game’s FPS down to 50. This was especially evident on the PS4 during game modes like the Halloween Zombie Royale.
Still, the already sharpened performance gives hope that the game will be smoothed out when the developer has a chance to create a next-gen version of the popular battle royale. This will lead to a better experience when compared to previous systems as the next-generation console packs heavier hardware than the PS4 does.
The PlayStation 5 is planned to launch in the United States as of November 12th. A week later, the UK and Europe will receive their next-gen consoles, provided fans pre-ordered. The popularity of the new console continues to rise, which may make it harder to purchase the closer it gets to the final release date.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
