Call of Duty: Warzone has received a new patch, providing fixes to issues caused by the game’s integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Fans of Call of Duty: Warzone have made notice of one specific fix, however, as Raven Software has announced the removal of the game’s consistently annoying tactical glitch.
Also known as the infinite stim glitch, the bug plagued Call of Duty: Warzone players shortly after the game released, reappearing multiple times throughout its life cycle. Returning at the end of November, it was instantly fixed, though the issue returned yet again with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s first season. Raven has “fixed” the issue once again according to the December 19 patch notes, and hopefully this is the last appearance of the looming tactical bug.
While Call of Duty: Warzone players have been extremely happy about the rumored return of Soap MacTavish, the number of glitches and bugs fixed with this update should also come as music to the ears of fans. The update has removed an issue with players getting “stuck accessing loadout drops,” though Raven does ask players to speak up it the issue happens again. Progression for seasonal challenges was also fixed, and match summary screens should be functioning normally as well.
An issue with Call of Duty: Warzone’s new weapons has been fixed as well. Previously, players were unable to use high level attachments for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns, an issue that should no longer be troubling players. The last issue mentioned is an odd one, as the game was showing “unlocks at random level” instead of the actual level for item unlocks. This was also fixed, rounding out the patch notes for the latest Call of Duty: Warzone update.
Fans expecting to see a mention of Call of Duty: Warzone’s removed attack helicopters or the invisibility exploit are out of luck. Those fixes will likely come in a later update, as the attack helicopter has not been returned to Verdansk or Rebirth Island with the game’s latest patch. With the invisibility bug being especially potent and costing players lots of matches, it makes sense that Raven is being careful to make sure the issue is permanently fixed before re-adding the helicopter variant to Call of Duty: Warzone.
With Call of Duty: Warzone’s recon exploit also going unmentioned in the December 19 patch notes, there will likely be a few lingering issues remaining in the free-to-play battle royale. However, the patch does fix plenty of problems that players have mentioned thus far, making it a major step in the right direction.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
