Call of Duty: Warzone players may have been given a massive batch of new content with the arrival of Season 1, though a new glitch is preventing players from properly enjoying some of that content. Through an odd spectating error, some Call of Duty: Warzone players are being provided with unlimited revives on the new Rebirth Island map.
While a recent Call of Duty: Warzone patch removed numerous bugs, such as players freezing when opening loadout drops, a new game-breaking issue has been discovered in the free-to-play Call of Duty title. Allowing players to respawn indefinitely, the glitch guarantees that the respawning player eventually wins. With the storm eventually overpowering the mode’s actual winners and killing them via map damage, this issue will be a real problem for fans if it is not fixed soon.
The bug is triggered in an odd way, with the players that found it having no intention to break the game. As posted by Redditor moi865, Call of Duty: Warzone players have a chance of having the glitch occur while spectating. With moi865 having been killed earlier, an attempt to watch their final teammate clutch a win on Rebirth Island led to the spectator view being stuck. Apparently caused by a third teammate leaving the match while one is watching the action, the final member of the group began endlessly respawning.
Leading to a victory for moi865 and his immortal friend, the confused player pleads with Raven to fix the exploit. How long Raven takes to correct the issue remains to be seen, though with the studio reacting quickly to Call of Duty: Warzone’s invisibility bug, hopefully the same thing will happen here. However, with the issue seemingly caused by a combination of spectating and Rebirth Island’s unique respawn system, it may be a harder fix for the battle royale’s developers.
Call of Duty: Warzone has a few other lingering problems in need of a fix as well. Aside from a recon contract exploit, fans have seen the unwelcome return of Call of Duty: Warzone’s infinite stim bug. A lingering issue with the game since shortly after it launched, the glitch has made yet another return — despite Raven saying it had finally been fixed on December 19. Allowing players to survive in the storm and outlast those who deserve the win, the infinite stim issue leads to a similar result to the one seen with this new Rebirth respawn glitch.
While it is unclear when fixes will come for this respawn bug or Call of Duty: Warzone’s other problems, hopefully players do not have to wait much longer. If a patch comes soon, fans will be able to enjoy content like Verdansk’s hidden nuke story or the Rebirth Island Easter egg without bugs hurting the experience.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
