Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Raid Will Be More Challenging

With the Beyond Light expansion, Destiny 2 filed away some of its older and underplayed content, with the intent of bringing over content that was popular in the original Destiny game, on top of new things for players to experience. One of the legacy experiences making its way to Destiny 2 is the Vault of Glass raid, though it may not be exactly as fans remember when it makes its debut in the newer game.

As revealed in an interview with Polygon, Bungie is tweaking aspects of the Vault of Glass raid for its Destiny 2 debut, as opposed to just bringing it over exactly as it is in the original Destiny game. The thought process behind it is that Guardians are now much stronger in Destiny 2 than they were in Destiny 1, with Bungie discovering that the Vault of Glass raid was way too easy with Destiny 2‘s weapons and abilities.

When it comes to changing the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny 2, Bungie is looking to strike a balance. Changes will be made with the goal of making the Destiny 2 Vault of Glass raid more challenging, but Bungie doesn’t want to go too far, or else it would risk making the raid feel too different than the original version.

Bungie did not specify exactly how it would be changing the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny 2, though it’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the first time that the raid has been changed. In fact, one of the last Destiny updates added a new Light Level 390 difficulty to the Vault of Glass raid, giving players of that game an especially tough challenge.

As for the Destiny 2 Vault of Glass release date, that also has yet to be detailed by Bungie. All fans know so far is that the Vault of Glass raid is coming to Destiny 2 at some point in 2021, so fans will have to stay tuned for more information. Presumably, the Vault of Glass raid release date reveal will coincide with more information about the changes Bungie is making to it for its Destiny 2 debut, though that remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, there should be plenty of content to keep Destiny 2 fans engaged while they wait to try the new version of the Vault of Glass raid. Currently, Destiny 2 players are in the middle of the Season of the Hunt, the first season to go with the Beyond Light expansion, with a new season set to start this coming February.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
