There’s Now a Cyberpunk 2077 Apology Generator | Game Rant

CD Projekt Red’s social media announcement format for Cyberpunk 2077 has become infamous among those who follow the company on its social media accounts. Specifically, the black text on a yellow background format that players are now overly familiar with because of how often they see it, such as when CD Projekt Red announced Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed to December 10.

The format has become so infamous that social media users began creating their own formats to post memes using the black text on yellow background style of Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red. Now, one Twitter user has created a dedicated apology generator tool that does a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of formatting, allowing users to create their own CD Projekt Red apology messages.

The template itself was made by a Twitter user going by the handle @Foone. Foone is a software and hardware engineer who has made other online generator-type projects in the past. Their Cyberpunk 2077 apology generator is hosted on GitHub and is incredibly easy to use. Basically, the format uses CD Projekt Red’s recent refund statement as a base, using the iconic yellow background and black text and font to display the message. However, underneath that statement is a text box where users can write whatever message they see fit.

Simply typing out the desired message will have the generator auto-format the message into a CD Projekt Red Cyberpunk 2077 apology statement. After players have written out their desired message, all they need to do is save the message through the generator and it is theirs to use. Thanks to this tool, creating CD Projekt Red apology memes is going to be 100 times easier, meaning users on Twitter will likely be seeing a lot more fake apologies in their feeds. Seeing as Cyberpunk 2077 is already rife for memes, another meme template with such ease of use is going to be a treat for social media users.

For those who may be out of the loop on this Cyberpunk 2077 situation, the big reason there are so many memes surrounding the game at the moment is largely due to the unstable state of the game at present. Especially on base last generation consoles like PS4 and Xbox One, the game runs poorly in most situations. That state of the game on last-generation consoles led to the current Cyberpunk 2077 refund debacle that is still ongoing, which spawned another CD Projekt Red apology statement.

However, despite the game’s buggy and glitchy state, there are still plenty of players out there who are enjoying the game. In fact, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 13 million copies even despite all the refund requests that CD Projekt Red and other retailers are receiving. That’s an incredibly impressive number, considering the abundance of negative press the game has received after launch. Still, good sales won’t stop social media users from creating memes around Cyberpunk 2077, especially now that it’s easier than ever before.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
