Announced during a Nintendo livestream in early 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong is the anticipated sequel of 2017’s award-winning action-adventure Metroidvania game developed by Team Cherry.
Fans eager for an update on the upcoming single-player 2D game need only look for the February 2021 edition of Edge magazine. The publication will feature Hollow Knight: Silksong and promises world-exclusive insight into the “sharply refined sequel to a modern classic.” The magazine will be available for purchase on December 31.
According to Jen Simpkins, who worked as an editor at Edge on the Hollow Knight: Silksong edition, the developers at Team Cherry provided a new demo and screenshots, along with hours of interviews about the game. Two custom covers with stunning artwork by Team Cherry’s Ari Gibson will be available, including a Hornet variant specifically designed for the magazine’s subscribers.
In Hollow Knight: Silksong, Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, is captured and taken to the distant, unfamiliar kingdom of Pharloom. A deadly plague threatens the land, and Hornet sets out alone on a pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak to learn why she was brought here. Along the way, she will battle enemies, solve ancient mysteries, and seek out allies as she ventures into mossy grottos, misty moors, and a shining citadel during her quest.
Hornet will learn a unique set of moves to advance through the vast world of Hollow Knight: Silksong and overcome the 150 all-new enemies that stand between her and her goal. She’ll master powerful attacks, learn silken abilities, and create useful tools to battle her way through the handcrafted 2D levels of Team Cherry’s latest creation.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently in development for PC and Switch.
