Call of Duty: Warzone may have evolved since its original release, but there are still many features that have not been included. From the infinite slide mechanics in Apex Legends to the building tools of Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone still has additional abilities that could be added to the game. One such ability is something that many players have taken for granted, and many others never noticed was missing from Call of Duty: Warzone.
In the frozen environment and wintery mountains of Verdansk, there is one major feature that many players never considered. Although Call of Duty: Warzone does feature a massive dam, the water remains frozen with a hard ice shell. Still, a recent Call of Duty: Warzone leak believes that the lake may be melting and a new location could be opening up.
According to ModernWarzone, Call of Duty: Warzone will be receiving the Sanatorium map located in the middle of Verdansk. The building is rumored to be located in a leaked lake located around the center of the map. If this is true, then it could mean that Call of Duty: Warzone operatives may finally learn how to swim. Further, this could mean the addition of water vehicles to the map alongside the other varying forms of transportation. For right now, this is all speculative, with no indication from the developers that it is true.
Activision and Treyarch have not commented on the matter, but there is a possibility that this could be added to the game. When Treyarch released Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode, the game mode prominently displayed both boats and swimming as default features. With Treyarch now working on Call of Duty: Warzone alongside Raven Software, there is a chance that swimming is in the game’s future.
In general, the Call of Duty: Warzone community does not expect a direct answer from the development team. Activision tends to remain on a strict “no comment” policy when it comes to leaks, and fans are left speculating at what is to come.
Still, there are tons of possibilities as to the future of Call of Duty: Warzone. As the developers continue to build upon the foundations left by Infinity Ward, the game is sure to evolve in interesting ways. Fans await balance patches, but a map update might go a long way to appeasing fans for a short period of time while balance patches are worked on in the background.
