Last month, All In! Games and 505 Games revealed the release date for its upcoming cyberpunk action-platformer called Ghostrunner. The game is available right now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One but Ghostrunner was also supposed to release on Nintendo Switch yesterday. Now, the developers have confirmed that the Switch version of Ghostrunner is delayed to November
Unfortunately, All In! Games did not reveal when exactly in November the Switch version of Ghostrunner will release. The developer explained that the reason why the Switch version has been delayed at a later date is “to provide players the best experience possible.” Moreover, All In! Games reassured fans that the specific release date will be announced in the coming days.
Of course, while this news may be disappointing to some, it is worth remembering that November is merely days away. Given this, the Switch version of Ghostrunner could be delayed for a month at the most, which is not a long wait unless the studio pulls a Cyberpunk 2077 and delays the version again. Even so, it’s usually better for developers to delay a game and polish it to a high level instead of releasing a version riddled with bugs and glitches.
Lastly, it is worth noting that Ghostrunner will also be available on next-gen consoles sometime in 2021. Luckily for players on the PS4 and Xbox One, Ghostrunner offers a free next-gen upgrade, which is perfect for players who want to try out the game now but wouldn’t want to pay for it again once the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are released next year.
Ghostrunner is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with the Switch version releasing in November and next-gen editions in 2021.
