Ruined King: A League of Legends Story Confirmed for Next-Gen Consoles

The popular MOBA League of Legends has had plenty of stories for each new character that is added to the incredible and ever-growing roster. League of Legends’ new patch added a new character and other improvements but the series has more changes coming. Now a new teaser reveals the spinoff game of League of Legends which will provide a brand new story to tell on its own with a mix of old and new characters.

The new teaser shows the League of Legends RPG spinoff: Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, now confirmed for next-gen consoles. Ruined King is the first ever single-player game in the League of Legends series as well as the first game from the publishing label Riot Forge. The Head of Riot Forge, Leanne Loombe, said this is part of Riot’s efforts to expand the League of Legends series to PC and consoles.

The game is being developed by Airship Syndicate, the same developer who worked on Darksiders Genesis with comic book legend Joe Madureira as the lead. Ruined King: A League of Legends Story’s announcement trailer shows off familiar League of Legends champions in action before setting off for a nautical adventure. The trailer shows Miss Fortune and Illaoi having a bar brawl, Braum fighting enemies in the tundra, Yasuo and Ahri facing an enemy together, and Pyke leaping into the maws of a kraken-like sea beast.

After each battle introduction, the League of Legends champions all assemble walking down a street before setting sail on a ship together towards a mysterious location where the titular Ruined King finally makes his debut. The game synopsis states that the game will have the assembled League of Legends champions explore the shady port town of Bilgewater and travel to the haunting Shadow Isles shrouded by the swirling Black Mist. The champions will work together to face the mysterious new villain, the Ruined King.

The game is being developed to be accessible for both old and new League Of Legends fans as the new game explores more of RuneTerra and adds a new journey for players. While the main synopsis is pretty brief, the enthusiasm for the game is far from missing in Loombe’s word’s, eager for players to see the new game. Ruined King: A League Of Legends Story will release early next year to current and next-gen consoles, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get a free upgrade to their versions of the game.

Players will be able to get their hands on the new game early 2021 with familiar champions and new lore for League Of Legends fans to enjoy.

Ruined King: A League Of Legends Story will launch in Early 2021 on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One with versions for the PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X in development.
