Watch Dogs Legion: How To Photograph Evidence with the Camera

Watch Dogs: Legion is one of the many new games with a photo mode. With the visually impressive graphics of many modern games, like Watch Dogs and Ghost of Tsushima, games need a photo mode for players to take selfies, capture important moments, and clip funny moments. In Legion, the photo mode is also used to collect evidence and fulfill quests, but it’s not as intuitive as similar modes in other games.

Players can take picture of anything in Legion‘s fiction post-Brexit London, from selfies to scenic views using photo mode. However, there are times when players will also need the camera to collect evidence against Albion, which is handled a little bit different than regular photo mode. There will be several times during Watch Dogs: Legion that requires players to know how to use the camera properly in order to move the story forward.

Taking photos in photo mode is pretty straightforward: hold X on PC or hold right on the D-pad if on console. This will bring up the equipment wheel where players can then choose the photo mode option. PC players can also use F2 to bring up the camera which will activate photo mode directly. From there, players can take photos of Watch Dogs: Legion‘s open world to their hearts content.

However, in order to take photos of evidence, players have to be close up to the thing they want to take photos of. Gain entry to the target location either through force or by hacking into the security terminals. Thankfully, they can usually be hacked one at a time, unlike hacking the 8 terminals in a row for the Hack the World trophy.

Walk over to the evidence marker, which will have a camera icon floating over it. Only then can players take out their camera by using right on the D-pad or holding X to get the equipment wheel, then selecting camera instead of photo mode in order to take some pictures of the evidence. Photos from a distance won’t work; make sure to be close to the object before snapping any pics. This is an easy-to-miss pro tip for anyone just starting Watch Dogs: Legion.

Keep in mind that any pictures of evidence taken in photo mode won’t work to progress in the game and need to be done from the camera option only. Photos in photo mode will also have the ability to add filters, take selfies, or just take candid photos of some of the citizens of Watch Dogs: Legion‘s London.

Watch Dogs: Legion is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
