Destiny 2 players are just about finish up the final season before Beyond Light drops on Tuesday. This season, the Season of Arrivals, will be coming to a close with a small Live Event inside of the Destiny 2 Tower. But when the event will occur is still a little bit of mystery.
While no official time is listed, players have been warned that they have to log out of Destiny at 4PM PST to download a small patch. Most likely, this patch is all about the Live Event for the Season of Arrival‘s end. Also, the beginning of the 14-hour Destiny server reset is set to start at 7 PM PST, with Destiny 2 logins being cut off at 6:50 PM PST. Given that, players should expect to be able to log in between 4pm PST and 6:50 PST in order to see the live event.
Inside of an email released by Bungie last week, the team accidentally spoiled the upcoming end-of-season event. The message said: “Be sure to catch the finale of the Season and see the conclusion before Beyond Light releases. For more information on what is coming, read the new This Week at Bungie now.” But there was not a single mention of the event in This Week at Bungie, although there was a brief mention of the Spicy Ramen Coupons in Destiny 2.
A few hours later, the end-of-Season-of-Arrivals Live Event was confirmed by Luke Smith, the game director of Destiny 2, on Twitter, but no time was listed. Smith tweeted that it would be a “small event to close out the Season of Arrivals,” and that the team “wanted it to be a surprise.” He also mentioned that it would be time to hang out in the Tower “before the Lights go out.”
There’s a lot to break down in a tweet that’s less than 60 words long. Players were all most likely expecting a Live Event, especially after the explosive finale of the Season of the Worthy. But “nothing too crazy” might mean the bigger reveals are saved for Beyond Light.
There has been speculation that the end of season event count feature anything from the Darkness ships destroying planets to the Traveler being healed, but those sound like significant moments for the world of Destiny 2. Regardless, players will be counting down until later this afternoon to see what might happen in-game.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches on November 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
