Cookbook Author Turns Bugsnax into Real Snacks | Game Rant

By now, players that have managed to get their hands on a PS5 have likely come to know the delicious world of Bugsnax. The game is the latest from developer Young Horses (creators of Octodad) and is currently available for free on PS5 with a PS Plus membership. And while the game seems to have been a hit with families, there hasn’t been a real opportunity to find out what the Bugsnax actually taste like. That is, until now.

Victoria Rosenthal is the creator of the site Pixelated Provisions, a site that is dedicated to recreating the various foods found within video game. Rosenthal has found quite a bit of success in the world of video game foods having published several cookbooks based on games like Destiny and Fallout. And now in the latest update to Pixelated Provisions, she has begun crafting recipes for the wonderful world of Bugsnax.

The cookbook author has several recipes for various Bugsnax available on Pixelated Provisions including the Cinnasnail, Strabby, and the Flapjackarak. While Rosenthal has said on the site that she has yet to actually play Bugsnax, it seems likely that once she does, players can expect several new recipes from her.

Reviews for Bugsnax seem to be overwhelmingly positive. Critics and fans alike seem to love the game’s balance of family-friendly and mature themes. And while the game is perhaps shorter than other PS5 launch titles like Demon’s Souls, players seem to relish in the game’s delightful humor and interesting characters.

It’s no surprise then that some players have said that Bugsnax is one of the best games in the PS5’s launch lineup. While the new console’s launch hasn’t been filled with hundreds of brand new exclusive games, it has managed to accrue an incredibly solid group of titles. These games include Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the sequel to Insomniac Games’ critical hit Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4, as well as Bluepoint’s beautiful remake of the PS3 title, Demon’s Souls.

While there are certainly plenty of players that would love to try out Bugsnax on the PS5, unfortunately, it seems that supply is extremely limited. Players have been attempting to snag their PS5 since pre-orders went live back in September, however, every time new consoles come into stock, players end up crashing the site with too much traffic. It seems that some players will have to try their luck at physical retailers like GameStop on Black Friday if they want to see what the new console is all about.

Bugsnax is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
