The Best Black Friday 2020 Video Game Deals at Walmart

Black Friday is almost here, which means tons of video game deals. This is perfect now that both Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles have been released in select territories. While players shouldn’t expect price drops for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, some retailers will offer these consoles during the holiday alongside discounts to some of the biggest games available right now, and Walmart is definitely one of the retailers to watch.

Now, for players interested to know what Walmart has to offer, here is everything the retailer has revealed for its Black Friday Sale, including which games will be discounted, when the deals will go live, and how to secure a PS5 or an Xbox Series X on Black Friday.

Of course, given that Walmart is a major retailer that carries almost everything, including video games, the store will have a massive Black Friday sale during the event. However, given the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Friday this year will be drastically different than it was before. Now, here are some key dates that players should know:

  • November 11 at 7 PM EST (online and in-store)
  • November 14 at 5 AM local time (in-store, deals will mostly be on TV’s smartphones, and tablets)
  • November 25 at 7 PM EST (online and in-store)
  • November 27 at 5 AM local time (in-store, official Black Friday sale)

As previously mentioned, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced several retailers to transition their sales promotions online. Although Walmart will still hold a Black Friday sale in its stores, some of its deals, most specifically on video games and consoles, will be offered online. As always, consoles and video games will be available as long as stocks last. For those who are only interested in Walmart’s online deals, please refer to the dates mentioned above, though it is worth noting that Walmart may still change the date and time of these online sales.

Walmart’s video game deals will offer tons of titles from the PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. For PlayStation deals, players should expect good prices on some of the console’s exclusive games, including The Last of Us 2, Days Gone, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Switch titles, on the other hand, include heavy hitters such as Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Mario Tennis Aces, Sonic Mania, Super Mario Maker 2, and more. Luckily for early adopters who could not get a PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch, Walmart confirmed that it would be offering both consoles on November 25. However, before players start lining up to their nearest Walmart, it is worth noting that the retailer will only offer the next-gen consoles online. For those interested, both next-gen consoles will be available at Walmart.com, starting at 7 PM ET on November 25. Of course, it is expected that these consoles will run out of stock as soon as they become available, so players should be ready to make a quick purchase and have all their payment and shipping details ready to ensure a fast transaction.

Black Friday is officially November 27. Deals and more may go live on or before that date.
