Next Walmart PS5, Xbox Series X Restock Dated for Next Week

With the next generation of consoles coming out in full swing, there are thousands of hungry fans trying to get their hands on either the PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series x. Stock has been quite limited due to the coronavirus pandemic, but thankfully there are still retailers who are announcing stock updates for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Walmart has had fairly explicit dates set for their product launches, even going as far as to announce specific times for when fans could purchase a new console and some of the cool new launch titles. This kind of candid response makes the uncertainty of when to expect a sale to go live go out the window.

Regardless of which console is on a fan’s horizon, both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 will be dropping at the same time next week on Walmart’s website. According to the site, both consoles will drop on Wednesday, November 25th at 6pm PST. Walmart will have the PS5 disc edition for $499, the PS5 digital edition for $399, the Xbox Series X for $499, and the Xbox Series S for $299. All consoles will be selling for their standard MSRP price, so no worries about paying more than expected.

However, just because the specific date and time has been set, doesn’t mean that everyone will simply be able to drop in to the Wal-Mart website and pick up a console. Fans will have to be quick in order to secure their coveted gaming device. One tip recommended to prospective buyers is keeping the store page open for whichever console they want well in advance in order to maximize the speed of their purchase, as well as ensuring all of their payment and shipping information is all up to date. Maybe consider picking up some of the well reviewed launch games as well.

Announcing the exact date and time has its pros and cons, however. While having explicit information completely erases any ambiguity surrounding when fans can expect the launch, this only guarantees more people will be on the site, which will certainly result in slower load times and will certainly sell out just as pre-orders did.

All hope is not lost if the console go out of stock before fans can purchase one. There will be multiple opportunities within the coming weeks to grab one, as GameStop will also be selling both consoles on Black Friday at some point, which will be limited to one console per household.
