Featured alongside Zhongli on his dedicated Banner, Xinyan is another new Genshin Impact character that players are loving, but some may be wondering how to maximize her potential for damage output.
The way Xinyan’s kit is built, she has the potential for being a tank, much like Noelle, because her shield scales off her defense stat. But this isn’t what players are currently using her for. Instead, players are focusing on her potential as a DPS character, specifically to sub out with Razor. For those using the wolf boy as their main DPS, Xinyan will likely be both a fun and useful addition to the team, operating somewhat similarly but featuring a Pyro Vision instead of Electro.
The main quirk about Xinyan, however, is that her powers won’t truly come alive until Constellation 2 is reached. This increases her ultimate’s Crit rate is increased by 100% and will form a shield, and this can also be important to note when taking into account what weapon is best for her. So for Genshin Impact players wanting to maximize her potential, they should look into rolling for Xinyan until at least Constellation 2 on Zhongli’s Banner while it’s still up.
Starting off with weapons, Xinyan has a lot of options that can work well with her, especially when taking into account what Artifacts she’s currently running. For example, Sacrificial Greatsword works well with the Crimson Witch of Flames set to maximize her Pyro DMG output and lower her lengthy cooldowns. But most players have so far voted that the DPS route is the way to go with Xinyan, which requires either the use of Wolf’s Gravestone or The Unforged.
Wolf’s Gravestone will make Xinyan’s kit look similar to Diluc’s as a DPS main, which is why she is a formidable placeholder on the roster until the dark brooding five-star hero is acquired. But there’s also the new Genshin Impact claymore, The Unforged, which increases the Attack stat by 100% as long as a shield is up. Going back to before, at Constellation 2, Xinyan will also get a shield from her Elemental Burst as well as her Elemental Skill, making this an ideal weapon for her. For F2P players, again, there’s a lot of options for claymores with Xinyan, but crafting the Prototype Animus is a good substitute until the above five-star weapons are obtained.
Artifacts on Xinyan really depend on what weapon she’s equipped with. So if players are going the DPS route with any weapons geared towards Attack or Crit stats, they’ll want to look into the Bloodstained Chivalry and Gladiator’s Finale Artifact sets. Gladiator’s works well on its own as a four-piece set, but can also be paired with Bloodstained Chilvary to get both of their two-piece set bonuses to maximize Xinyan’s Physical DMG and Attack stats.
