Cyberpunk 2077: How To Complete The Sinnerman Questline

It’s undeniable that Cyberpunk 2077 has had quite a rocky release. Stocks for CD Projekt Red have even fallen since its release. Still, with people even trying to play the game on the Atari VCS, it shows just how badly people want to try out this new release.

The game has many optional sidequests called gigs where their decisions affect the final outcome on what kind of reward they receive in the end. The Sinnerman gig looks like a simple hit job on the surface but can be much more involved than expected.

6 Starting Sinnerman

Players will need to advance through the main questline to be able to unlock this gig. Once they have completed Life During Wartime they will get contacted by Wakako Okada about killing someone for Bill Jablonsky. Players then can meet up with Bill, plan out his revenge, and follow him to a certain point while driving his car.

5 Decision: Complete The Hit

Bill wanted to kill a man called Joshua Stephenson. Players can choose to simply carry out the hit and open fire ending the quest right there and then and get the money promised for the hit. No matter what, Bill is shot in the head, so opening fire immediately on the car to kill Stephenson inside is a potential option.

However, if players hear Stephenson out, he offers them the same amount of money and a far most interesting questline to pursue. If players still kill Stephenson they will not be able to complete A Light That Never Goes Out so they should consider the choice carefully. We recommend going further with the new quest for anyone not trying to speedrun the game.

4 A Light That Never Goes Out

Players that choose to not kill Stephenson can get into the police escort car he was in and drive while talking to him about his life. Players will learn he became a born-again Christain while in prison and talk about how he expected someone like V to find him on this day.

Once players reach their destination, they will learn that Stephenson’s sentence was canceled because he plans to take part in a very unique braindance: he plans to be filmed in a literal crucifixion. Players then can head to a restaurant but not until they talk to the braindance’s producer about the production. They’ll be bribed to simply walk away from the production entirely.

3 Taking The Bribe

From here, players have several options they can choose from. The game allows players to get a lot of money from this quest, but in the end, it is more likely that the decision comes down to a moral one for the player to make. Two of these options involve taking a bribe.

Accept The Bribe: Players will be offered a bribe by the producer of the braindance to simply walk away from the production and lose all of their involvement in it. If players choose this option, they will walk away and later be able to view Stephenson’s execution. Eddies will be deposited in their account.

Demand A Larger Bribe: Players that are taking the Corpo lifepath have the option to make the producer pay them even more money. The results are mostly the same as taking the initial bribe except that players will get three times the number of eddies paid out to their account.

2 Refusing The Bribe

Players who refuse the bribe will be able to keep continuing onwards and start another questline called They Won’t Go When I Go. Stephenson will pay what he promised upon entering the restaurant. At this point, players have four major options involving how much they help with the execution.

  • Refuse to help with the braindance and not watch it.
  • Refuse to help but promise to stay and watch.
  • Help nail him to the cross but stop to eventually watch the rest of the execution.
  • Help nail in every single nail on the cross.

No matter what choice is made the execution will still take place. In the end, the player is choosing how much they directly want to help as well as how much of the execution they want to directly see. This scene is extremely graphic so players should keep that in mind when making their decision.

Either way, talk to the producer after the execution to complete the gig. She will comment on how professional the player was during the job depending on the option they chose. This doesn’t affect the questline or the game in any other major way.

1 V’s Relationship Johnny Silverhand

The one major thing this quest can change is V’s relationship with Johnny Silverhand. Players who take the bribe will be called a sellout by Johnny who especially berates the player if they take the larger bribe. Players who stick to their principles will find that Johhny approves of their decision and leads to an interesting philosophical discussion about souls and the afterlife with him.
