Blizzard’s delayed and online-only BlizzConline 2021 is scheduled to start tomorrow. It seems that not everyone is on the same page, however. Unsurprisingly, World of Warcraft Classic fans will be receiving the one big reveal they’ve been looking forward to. World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic has now been confirmed.

The press release details are unfortunately thing on the specifics that World of Warcraft Classic players are likely wanting to hear. For example, no release date information is provided beyond a 2021 launch window. There’s also no information regarding Burning Crusade Classic‘s all but guaranteed beta. It’s possible that this information will be shared during BlizzCon apart from the press kit, but unlikely. World of Warcraft Classic players will likely have to wait for more information down the line.

All of the content included in World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic should be familiar to World of Warcraft players by now. There will be new zones, like the Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh. Blood Elf and Draenei will be available as playable races. Flying mounts, Arena PvP, and new raids are all going to be a part of the World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic release. Like with World of Warcraft Classic, Burning Crusade Classic will provide an authentic recreation of the original experience.

Blizzard does confirm that, like with the original World of Warcraft Classic release, patches and updates will roll out via phases over time. That way Burning Crusade players can progress through the expansion’s content in a normal fashion. The exact cadence of content releases hasn’t been shared yet, and neither has the initial patch that’ll be available at launch.

One change coming with the release of the Burning Crusade Classic expansion is going to give players a big decision. World of Warcraft Classic players will be able to transfer their current characters to Burning Crusade Classic, of course. But they’ll also be able to keep them in the World of Warcraft Classic base game. The servers will be split. There’s definitely more to this situation than meets the eye.

Lastly, Blizzard confirms that access to World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic will, like with World of Warcraft Classic, be included with a standard subscription. Those playing World of Warcraft Shadowlands will have access to the Classic servers, too. Fans hoping for more information should tune into BlizzCononline 2021, which starts Friday on Blizzard’s various streaming platforms.
