For the second week in a row, Ratched<\/em>, the psychological thriller starring Sarah Paulson as nurse Mildred Ratched from the novel and film One Flew Over the Cuckoo\u2019s Nest<\/em>, continues to tower above its competition in the streaming rankings put out by data giant for all things TV, Nielsen. The series is followed closely by a non-bingeable movie alternative, Netflix\u2019s Enola Holmes<\/em>.<\/p>\n

For almost 2 months now, Nielsen has made public<\/a> information that was previously withheld to its paying customers, something that really helps in painting a picture of exactly what the streaming landscape looks like. This time around the rankings are adding information from the biggest four streaming companies: Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu and, of course, Netflix.<\/p>\n

To nobody\u2019s surprise, Netflix continues to show its strength over the competition in this pound per pound power ranking. While that last part isn\u2019t new at all, Netflix executives will find comfort in having two company produced properties owning\u00a0the top 2 spots, considering their previous domination was mostly down to content that was acquired<\/a>, rather than being network originals.<\/p>\n

That trend hasn\u2019t faded completely, with Ratched<\/em> and Enola Holmes<\/em> being the sole two passing the 1,000 million minutes mark, followed by now ranking mainstays like The Blacklist<\/em>, The Office<\/em>, Schitt\u2019s Creek<\/em>, Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em>, Criminal Minds<\/em>, Cobra Kai<\/em> and Lucifer<\/em>. The Canadian sitcom’s breakthrough into the top 10 comes as the biggest news, after Schitt’s Creek<\/em> swept the Emmys<\/a>,\u00a0including Outstanding Comedy Series.<\/p>\n

The only non-Netflix entry in the rankings, accounted for September 21 to 27, is Amazon\u2019s The Boys<\/em>, which has been a huge hit and was just on the verge of wrapping up its second season around the time when the data was collected. As Nielsen starts adding more streaming data (HBO Max is still missing), it\u2019s just a matter of time until the public really knows how big of a dent other streaming networks can put in Netflix\u2019s shiny armor plates, or how long their original content can hang on to the crown.<\/p>\n

With other platforms\u2019 heavy hitters currently on break, Netflix\u2019s ranking dynasty will see the biggest threat so far come from The Mandalorian<\/em><\/a>, which is scheduled to debut its second season next week on October 30. Previously, Disney\u2019s Mulan<\/em> had managed to sneak a spot in the top 10, so it\u2019s safe to say The Mandalorian<\/em> is going to be up there, the only question is how big its numbers will be.<\/p>\n

Ratched<\/em> <\/strong>and\u00a0Enola Holmes<\/em><\/strong> are currently streaming on Netflix.<\/p>\n
