miHoYo has been treating\u00a0Genshin Impact<\/em><\/strong> fans to a surprise week-long event in its new free-to-play MMORPG hit. Players have\u00a0had to track down a dubious new NPC in pursuit of his valuable Boxes o’ Marvel, which can only be opened during the event.<\/p>\n

The Marvelous Merchandise event runs from October 26th through November 2nd, 2020, and gives\u00a0Genshin Impact<\/em><\/a> players seven distinct opportunities to interact with the new traveling merchant, Liben. Upon finding him, he\u00a0sends players on a brief ingredient-hunt,\u00a0which grants the\u00a0opportunity to open one Box o’ Marvel upon completion.<\/p>\n

Liben stuck to Mondstadt on Day 1, and visited Springvale\u00a0on Day 2. On Day 3, players found Liben\u00a0asking for berries at the Dawn Winery, and on Day 4, he seems to be hanging around Genshin Impact<\/i>‘s\u00a0Stone Gate area<\/a>. Every day thus far, he has requested 10 copies of a particular ingredient (mushrooms, pinecones, and berries, so nothing too rare),\u00a0and today is no different: Liben requires 10 Sunsettias on Day 4.<\/p>\n

To find Liben, players should simply head to the main Stone Gate “town,” found just off of the\u00a0nearest teleport waypoint. Sunsettias are bright red-orange plants\u00a0that can be\u00a0found hanging from small trees throughout Teyvat; much like the other ingredients’ needed by Liben<\/a>, it is easy to find, and most players will already have well more than\u00a010\u00a0in their inventories.<\/p>\n

Every Box o’ Marvel opened thus far has contained a combination of Primogems and valuable upgrade materials, so Travelers should expect their fourth boxes to be similar in contents. Primogems are\u00a0used to make Wishes for\u00a0explosive new characters like Klee or Diluc, so players will at the very least appreciate that part of the gift. Moreover, each of Liben’s seven boxes is decorated to resemble one of the seven Elemental Visions, so perhaps players will unlock something extra special\u00a0upon collecting\u00a0all seven. Not to mention, Liben also apparently sells Dragon Balls<\/a>, though not to the Traveler, so\u00a0the shady merchant is certainly familiar\u00a0with world-bending sets of seven.<\/p>\n

As per usual, players should also be wary of the Marvelous Merchandise event’s fine print. The event allows players to stack Liben’s rewards, and open Boxes o’ Marvel at any time by speaking with Liben, but players will be unable to claim rewards once he’s departed from Teyvat on November 2nd. So players hoping to open many Boxes o’ Marvel at once, instead of going for the small daily delight, should be careful not to let November 2 slip past their radar. miHoYo\u00a0has given away extra Primogems<\/a>, and promised many updates, but no\u00a0details regarding Liben’s future have been announced, so at best, players should expect him to\u00a0possibly return in October 2021.<\/p>\n

Genshin Impact<\/strong><\/em> is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for Switch.<\/p>\n
