As much as fans love\u00a0Dark Souls 3\u00a0<\/em>and, to a lesser extent,\u00a0Dark Souls 2<\/em>, there’s nothing that quite beats the nostalgia of the original\u00a0Dark Souls<\/strong><\/em>. This is made plain by how strong the modding community for Souls<\/em> games<\/a>\u00a0still is despite that title being over nine years old now. Unfortunately, it never got a true, direct sequel.<\/p>\n

Dark Souls<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>modders are now seeking to change that, as some of the most notable modders in the community have all teamed up to create\u00a0Dark Souls: Nightfall<\/em>, a mod that will act as a direct sequel. While\u00a0Dark Souls 2\u00a0<\/em>and especially\u00a0Dark Souls 3\u00a0<\/em>are definitely set in the same world or setting as the first game, they take place either in alternate timelines or far in the past or future.<\/p>\n

This mod will take players on a journey that begins exactly where\u00a0Dark Souls\u00a0<\/em>left off<\/a>, presumably with the player making the decision to either rekindle the first flame or become the lord of darkness. Exactly where the story will go from there is unclear, as the creators are wanting to keep most of the details under wraps for now.<\/p>\n
