Scottish actress Karen Gillan (Doctor Who<\/em>, Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>) has shared her new short horror film via her twitter account. Gillan tweeted “Here is a link to a short horror film I wrote and directed called The Hoarding<\/em>!<\/a> I also show up for a brief little stint in the film. Turn the lights off and enjoy…”<\/p>\n

The Hoarding<\/em> sees Gillan playing Hope, a cleaner joined by American Horror Story<\/em><\/a>‘s Jamie Brewer on her first job clearing out a house that once belonged to a hoarder. There are dolls. Lots of dolls. Never a good sign.<\/p>\n

The film itself is a beautifully shot slice of gothic horror set almost entirely within a grimy creepy house complemented by Matt Glass’s brooding score. Gillan is no stranger to horror having starred in The Haunting of Bly Manor<\/em><\/a> creator Mike Flanagan’s hypnotic Oculus<\/em> shortly before writing, directing and acting in comic horror short Conventional<\/em> <\/a>where she plays a one time scream queen whose star has long since faded.<\/p>\n
