The\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/strong><\/em> battle royale game has been a massive success for Activision, and so it’s no surprise that support for it will continue for the foreseeable future. But with\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> set to launch in just a couple of weeks, fans may be wondering exactly how\u00a0Call of Duty: W<\/em>arzone<\/em><\/a> will be impacted. After all, it’s been said in the past that\u00a0Warzone<\/em> will be tied to\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> and leave\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em> behind, and now we have more information on exactly how that will work.<\/p>\n

It’s been confirmed by Activision that\u00a0Call of Duty: W<\/em>arzone<\/em> will stay tied to\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em> throughout the month of November. But at some point in\u00a0December,\u00a0Warzone<\/em>\u00a0will line up with\u00a0Call of Duty: B<\/em>lack Ops Cold War<\/em>‘s Season 1. Essentially, this means\u00a0Warzone<\/em> will reset to Season 1 in December, with a new Battle Pass<\/a> that will allow players to unlock content for use in both the battle royale and the standard\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> multiplayer.<\/p>\n

Some fans may be wondering what this means for their existing\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> loadouts, but luckily, players will be able to keep all of their old\u00a0loadouts, even after the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> integration takes place in December<\/a>. What is going to happen, apparently, is that all of the guns that players can unlock in\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> multiplayer from level 1 to 55 will be usable in\u00a0Warzone<\/em>, so players can expect an influx of new weapons. Essentially, players will be able to choose between two sets of loadouts: one based on\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em> weaponry, and another based on\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This is a rather ambitious plan for\u00a0Warzone<\/em>, but it should be generally well-received by the community. After all, some players have spent a significant amount of time with\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>‘s Gunsmith feature<\/a> and building their favorite loadouts. It would likely be very frustrating for them to lose their loadouts just because a new game came out, especially if they plan on sticking with\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em> and aren’t getting\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> right away.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, it’s easy to see how this could lead to balancing issues. Overpowered\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> guns<\/a>, like the XM4 in the beta, could throw\u00a0the\u00a0Warzone<\/em> meta completely out of whack. It will be a challenge to be sure, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out come December.<\/p>\n

For now,\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> fans can still enjoy\u00a0Warzone<\/em> Season 6 and the ongoing Halloween-themed Haunting of Verdansk event<\/a>.<\/p>\n
