The upcoming remake of Demon’s Souls<\/em><\/strong> is sure to be tough for both seasoned and new players of the Souls games, but Sony has announced that one of the PlayStation 5’s newest features<\/a> is geared to help players navigate through the world of Boletaria.<\/p>\n

Demon’s Souls<\/a><\/em> players who have a\u00a0hard time with a boss or can’t figure out which way to spec their characters will have access to over 180 video guides in the PlayStation 5’s new activities bar, giving hints to players that are dependent on where they are in the game without overtly spoiling anything.<\/p>\n

The activities bar is a significant addition to the PlayStation 5 not on the PS4<\/a>, and is one of the many ways Sony is attempting to streamline the PS5 experience and keep players’ eyes on the TV screen, instead of\u00a0searching for an answer on a phone or computer. Alongside video guides, players can find out how far they’ve progressed on missions, quests, and activities on the activities bar, including how much more work\u00a0is\u00a0needed to obtain trophies. With the fast SSD on the PS5, switching from game to the menu looks to be super fast too, encouraging players to check out the feature more actively.<\/p>\n

Launching alongside the PlayStation 5, the\u00a0Demon’s Souls<\/em> remake is shaping up to be pretty faithful to the original PS3 release. Demon’s Souls<\/em> is notoriously hard in both its gameplay and obscure\u00a0systems, with\u00a0Bluepoint Games confirming that the World Tendency<\/a> system remains unchanged. The hint system is going to be a huge resource for new players to understand the more obscure aspects of the game, and is one of the many ways Sony is looking to help gamers of all experiences enjoy the game without changing the original vision of the FromSoftware classic.<\/p>\n

Rumors of\u00a0no additional content being added to Demon’s Souls<\/em><\/a>\u00a0have been circulating, leading fans to believe that cut content from the original game\u00a0won’t\u00a0be added or expanded upon, specifically regarding the original game’s missing 6th Archstone. The Archstone would have led fans to the land of the giants with a unique area to explore and more tough enemies to fight against.<\/p>\n

While this\u00a0may be disappointing to fans that have been hoping to see the missing content since it was discovered in the original game, it’s easy to see why Bluepoint didn’t add it in, as it would have divided fans who want the original vision of the game untouched. When Demon’s Souls<\/em> was originally revealed at the PlayStation 5 reveal event, many fans\u00a0criticized some visual aspects of the game including the font used on Demon’s Souls<\/em> infamous death screen<\/a>. Bluepoint games, for its part,\u00a0has made many changes based on fan feedback, including changing the “You Died” font that fans are surely to see a lot in the game.<\/p>\n

Bluepoint is also still finding ways to modernize and enhance the classic FromSoftware game without losing the spark of the original. With small but substantial changes, Bluepoint looks to keep on pace with modern Souls games including\u00a0changing rolling in the game from\u00a0quad-directional to omnidirectional, and while World Tendency is still in the game, new UI elements have been added to\u00a0make it easier for\u00a0players to discover the current tendency.<\/p>\n

Demon’s Souls<\/em><\/strong> launches November 12 on the PlayStation 5.<\/p>\n
