And as expected,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a> is going to take a significant amount of space on players&#8217; hard drives and SSDs at launch, with the next-gen file sizes well over 100GB.<\/p>\n<p>On PS4 and Xbox One,\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-file-size-pc\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> file sizes<\/a> are 95GB and 93GB, respectively. Meanwhile, the\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> PS5 and Xbox Series X file sizes are 133GB and 136GB. Those playing\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em>\u00a0on PC will be looking at an 82GB file size just for the game, whereas playing it on ultra graphics settings with things like ray-tracing will need to set aside at least 125GB.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-pre-loading-when-how\/\">Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Pre-Loading Starts This Week<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While the\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> file sizes are rather excessive, the bright side is that players should be able to uninstall content that they don&#8217;t want to play. For example,\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> players should be able to uninstall the\u00a0campaign when they&#8217;re done with it, which should reduce the overall file size significantly. Those that only have multiplayer installed on PC will just have to deal with a 35GB file size, which isn&#8217;t too bad, though it does keep them from playing things like <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-zombies-allow-personal-loadouts\/\">Zombies<\/a> and\u00a0<em>Warzone<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charlieINTEL\/status\/1324052711701127171\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charlieINTEL\/status\/1324053213532823560\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Something that&#8217;s concerning about the\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> file sizes, though, is that they&#8217;re likely to grow over time. Activision has extensive post-launch support planned for\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em>, with new content releasing on a seasonal basis like was done with\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-warzone-integration-start\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> Season 1 is expected to start<\/a> at some point in December, at which point fans can expect a slew of new content for the game, meaning a bigger file size.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, those that want to play\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> and have some other games on their consoles will likely want to invest in ways to expand their storage. The downside to this is that the Xbox Series X SSD expansion cards are rather expensive, over $200, and fans can expect paying a similar price to increase the PS5 file size as well. And as far as the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-series-s-storage-size-after-os\/\">Xbox Series S storage space<\/a> goes, half of it will be eaten up by\u00a0<em>Black Ops Cold War<\/em>&#8216;s launch file size alone.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/treyarch-black-ops-cold-war-datamine-rickroll\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Treyarch<\/a> is able to optimize\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em>&#8216;s updates so that the file sizes stay under control.
