Counterplay Games has just ramped up the hype\u00a0for its next-generation launch title, <em><strong>Godfall<\/strong><\/em>, by holding a celebration stream where the developer showed off a new action-packed trailer for the looter-slasher title.<\/p>\n<p>The exciting new trailer for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/godfall\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Godfall<\/em><\/a> contained a ton of content that catered to audiences interested in learning about the story of the game and seeing more fast-paced action. Between action shots that showed off the main character slashing through tons of enemies, players were given tidbits about <em>Godfall&#8217;s<\/em> story which is setting up\u00a0to conclude with an explosive family reunion featuring Macros, the game&#8217;s main antagonist. Players see Orin, the main character of <em>Godfall,<\/em> fight and fail throughout the launch trailer, however, the trailer shows that collecting tons of loot and defeating enemies, specifically Macros&#8217; lieutenants, will set players up for success.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/godfall-vertigo-valorplate-trailer-october-2020\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Godfall Trailer Highlights Vertigo Valorplate<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For the uninitiated, <em>Godfall<\/em> is an action-RPG focused on melee combat and providing players with tons of items and different loot to collect, hence the name &#8220;looter-slasher.&#8221; The\u00a0game&#8217;s launch trailer keeps up with this aspect of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/godfall-loot-progression-system-video-details\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Godfall<\/em> by showcasing tons of weapons and different gear<\/a> throughout the trailer and, not so subtly, telling players they need better weapons to advance on their journey. During the gameplay portions, players can see different orbs on the ground that represent different loot akin to how loot dropped in <em>Borderlands<\/em>, though the weapons may not be as comical.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlayGodfall\/status\/1324410183548850178\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It seems as though players have been hearing about <em>Godfall<\/em> for a very long time, and while that may have something to do with the marathon that is 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/godfall-gearbox-first-ps5-game\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Godfall<\/em> was one of the first games announced for the next-generation of consoles<\/a>. During The Game Awards show in 2019\u00a0<em>Godfall<\/em> was announced and confirmed\u00a0as the first PlayStation 5 title, giving fans of the platform something to look forward to and officially beginning the push toward console gaming&#8217;s next-generation.<\/p>\n<p><em>Godfall<\/em> isn&#8217;t the only PlayStation 5 launch title Sony will be promoting over the next few days before release and throughout the holiday season as players who were lucky enough to secure a PlayStation 5 will have a few solid\u00a0games to choose from\u00a0for their new console on launch day.
