During the call, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson discussed plans for\u00a0next-gen consoles, stating that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ea\/\">EA<\/a> is committed to\u00a0providing a smooth transition for players on current-gen consoles moving over to the next-gen consoles.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson also announced plans for an handful of new game launches, and\u00a0boasted &#8220;significant growth&#8221; for EA, predicting &#8220;continued expansion into FY22 (fiscal year)\u00a0and beyond.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ea-loot-boxes-fine\/\">\u00a0EA Hit With Massive Fine Over Loot Boxes<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wilson\u00a0reported\u00a0that EA plans to launch at least 6 new games for next-gen consoles between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022. These will include a new <em>Need For Speed, Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NHL<\/em>, and<em> UFC<\/em>. EA also stated that it plans to release a new EA originals title, and a remaster before March 31, 2021. While these titles have not been confirmed, rumors have been circulating that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mass-effect-asari-most-powerful-lore\/\">the <em>Mass Effect Trilogy<\/em><\/a> will be remastered.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/need-for-speed-hot-pursuit-remastered-price-release-date-visuals-multiplayer\/\">new <em>Need for Speed<\/em><\/a> game will be developed by the Criterion team, which has launched some of the most popular games in EA Games&#8217; history. Criterion Software is responsible for the <em>Burnout, Need for Speed, and Star Wars Battlefront series, <\/em>as well as\u00a0developing\u00a0<em>Battlefield V and Black<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/zhugeex\/status\/1324482445178212353\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>DICE is currently creating <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/battlefield-6-new-game-crazy-ideas\/\">the next <em>Battlefield<\/em> game<\/a>, which is slated to launch during the holiday season of 2021. The advancement of the next generation of consoles has allowed the developers to deliver a better game with &#8220;never-before-seen scale.&#8221; It currently has hands-on game testing underway, and have been receiving positive feedback so far from testers and the community.
